Vereb Calls on Chief Justice to Review Arraignment Proceedings for the Penn State Abuse Case
HARRISBURG – Rep. Mike Vereb (R-Montgomery) today issued a
letter to Pennsylvania Supreme Court Justice Ronald D. Castille regarding the arraignment hearing for former Penn State football coach Gerald Sandusky on charges of child sexual abuse. News outlets have reported that District Judge Leslie Dutchot, who presided over the arraignment, has ties to The Second Mile organization – a nonprofit organization founded by Sandusky to help at risk children. Sandusky was released on $100,000 unsecured bail – even though prosecutors requested bail be set at $500,000 and that Sandusky be required to wear a tracking bracelet.
